Named after the Mantled Guereza ( colobus Guereza) also known as eastern black and white colobus Monkey is one of the many primate species that you will see at the lodge ! owned and managed by a local female and former ranger guide at Kibale National Park ..Harriet Kemigisha is born and raised in Uganda at the edge of Kibale national park where the lodge is located, she has worked with Uganda wildlife Authority an organization that is responsible for managing and protecting wildlife.. She has also worked with many community-based conservation organizations like Kafred and Bigodi wetland sanctuary.
Perched on the periphery of the home of the primates Kibale Forest National Park, Guereza Canopy Lodge is the ideal jungle getaway for a never-ending intimacy with the natural world. At 795 square kilometres, Kibale Forest National park has the highest density of primates in the whole world and is the best place to track Man’s closest cousin the Chimpanzee.
Designed to bring the beauty of the natural world right to your bed; these luxury rooms have large windows stretching the length of the walls and high ceilings to give you plenty of space and light. Each room has the option of double, twin or even triple beds available, both have a large writing desk, plenty of atmospheric lighting and the choice of a bath or a shower. Bathrooms are spacious, contemporary in design, with his and hers sinks and plenty of privacy. One of the cottages also has a stunning outdoor bathtub made from river stones and cool grey cement for extra special evenings under the stars.
